Why Am I Having Upper Left Abdominal Pain That Radiates Into My Left Shoulder And Left Mid Back?

December 1st, 2009 · 9 Comments · Pain

Sounds almost like what’s happening to me. Started off with abdominal discomfort for a few weeks, then suddenly I started getting sciatica. I’ve been to a couple doctors, and neither of them think it’s anything serious. Thanks, docs…you don’t have to live in this body! ;) Luckily I have a CT scan coming up…but I have to wait three weeks to get it.
Could be anything from muscle strain, an ulcer, swollen spleen, kidney stone…there are lots of things it could be. You didn’t state your age or many other details, so this is a generality based on my existing research.

The first couple of answers are possibilities. It could also be your kidneys. Try drinking cranberry juice, but if it bothers you a lot or gets worse, see your doctor.

This could be a sign of a heart attack. GO SEE AN EMERGENCY ROOM QUICK!!!!!

Pinched nerve, collapsed vertebrate, compression fracture of the back. I would go get this checked out NOW. If you loose feeling in your legs, or loose control of your bladder or bowels, call 911

i dont know your age or anything but…a year and a half ago these symptoms were the same as i had. i kept trying to figure it out in my own head, WRONG after a month or two i had a major heart attack and was very lucky that the ambulance got me to the hospital fast, i think that you should go to your dr or if it is severe pain go to emerg right away.

I had problems similar to this… it got so bad to the point that I was in excruciating pain no matter how I positioned myself… I thought I was going to die because it even hurt to breathe… turned out, I had a perforrated ulcer.. if I would’ve let that go, I would’ve died.. so whatever it is, if it gets worse within an hour or so, go to the emergency room.. cause it started out just feeling like heartburn… then all the bad stuff followed… hope you do ok.
