You probably have a pinched nerve, also if you injured it before you probably have some arthritis in there as well.

Sounds like a sore muscle or tendon back there.Do some stretching exercises and keep it moving. If it gets worse I’d see a doc.

Sounds like it could be a damaged ligament i would continue at the gym for another week if it don’t improve by trying to strengthen it go to see your local doctor might be something else depending on how long ago you first injured it. Hope this helps a little.

When you started weights did you get any instruction or did you just go ahead and pump iron?
If you have been before and had a long break, you basically have to start again from bottom weight and build up again.
I’M guessing that you have stressed your shoulder ligaments which can cause you to feel some discomfort if you breath in deeply.
You should go to a doctor and get an opinion and in the mean time, lay off the weights but DON’T REST, this is worse, if you continue to use your arm on a daily basis without causing more injury to yourself, don’t rest it. What happens is the muscle and joints tighten up, not what you want, it lowers blood flow which is not what you want, if you don’t keep it in motion, the lack of blood flow and lack of use will prolong the repairs your body makes.
Give it at least 6 months break from the Gym, then start again from the bottom weights and work up again.
It is often overlooked point, if you do weights at the gym, any long break, 2 or more weeks requires a drop down in your weight regime, the longer the break the more of a drop you need as your muscles quickly go into atrophy and are not as strong as you think.
