December 21st, 2009 · 3 Comments · Pain

I feel pain all over my body speacially back, shoulders, thighs and legs and is associated with wierd feelings. I tried over the counter drugs like ibufrofen or aleve and doesn’t work for me at all, i also tried taking motrin up to 6 to 8 caplets at the same time and there’s no effect on me. Any suggestions? Thanks guys.

The best thing would be to take a few days before you go to the doctor and keep a little pain journal,, when you hurt, where you hurt, how badly you hurt, you take it with you and it will help more than you can imagine,,, it’s hard to communicate your concerns to a doctor in the few minutes you have with them and it also makes the doctor feel you are part of the process,,, they like that.
But if you are trying to get them and you don’t have a condition that the doctor feels would require pain meds you are out of luck.
And I wouldn’t suggest you go in and ask for any kind of pain meds by name,,,, that is the easy way to spot abusers
BTW: MOST people do not mention methadone as a first choice for pain medication unless they somehow know about it,,, and usually those would be opiate addicts,,, you REALLY don’t want to mention methadone to the doctor.
and you really don’t want to mess with methadone,,, it is far worse than even heroin,,, I’ve been addicted to both before

Whoa.. Let me tell you.. I was sure in some kind of sciatica in april 08.. I went in to see a family doctor who has known me for years and all he gave me was tramadol.. Tramadol is an opioid, which is a derivative of an opiate such as Vicodin. And I will tell you, if you do want the hydro’s (vicodin) DON”T go in with the name Norco. That is a brand name meaning in his eyes you are telling him.. I would like vicodin with milligram of 10/325 (norco) which is a red flag you know what the hell you are talking about. The best bet is to just try to get some tramadol or ultram is the same. It gives you a small high, if thats what you are looking for of course the vicodin would be better, but for pain, it works just fine. I will tell you.. You DONT want to go down the narcotic pain killer road. IT IS NOT FUN> when you see how much it helps, you will want and want and want until you are hooked. I used vicodin everyday for 8 months and I will tell you what.. you will have the worst withdrawals in the world!! I promise!! it is terrible. I am now 4 days cold turkey going from 8 vikes a day of the strongest ones and I feel like hell on earth.. PLEASE dont get into this.. I will promise you.. please think back when you are having the withdrawals god forbid and say “damn I should have listened to him.” I promise you will think of me if you get to this stage! GOOD LUCK I WILL PRAY FOR YOU!
p.s. Methadone is the devil itself.. I wouldn’t ever touch it!

Tell them the truth. If they determine that you are in medical need of a prescription pain killer, they will either prescribe it, or they will refer you to a pain specialist. They may want to do extensive testing to find out what the cause is, so be prepared for that also.
