What Does The Grinding Shoulder In My 13 Week Old Baby Mean.?

December 25th, 2009 · 2 Comments · Pain

My son is 13 weeks old and was born 3 weeks early by induction and was eventually delivered by ventouse after being stuck in the birth canal for sometime, we have noticed is shoulder is clicking/grinding and every now and again seems to cry like he is in a lot of pain but we always put this down to colic.
Anyone got any ideas and reasons why they think what they do.
He has been examined a number of times and this never picked up.
Thankyou.

Oh dear..Our wee man was also ventouse..but hasn’t suffered any problems.Have you tried giving him a gentle massage..you can buy some great baby massage oils online,or even use baby oil?
Im not saying this will solve the problem..but it might ease any discomfort a little…and my 6 month old loves a massage!
Try the GP again,or talk to your health visitor, maybe they could try a more thorough examination,or refer you to a specialist..or maybe it is just colic…if so,Infacol before every bottle seems to do the trick.
    Good Luck!

colic is in the tummy not the shoulder…..mmmm does he cry when you move it..next time you see the dr or nurse tell them maybe needs a xray
