We need a way that is harmless to a dog and will help him cope with his pain until we take him to the vet tomorrow. He is whining and crying and limping. I think its something with his shoulder but were not sure. Please help! Thanks!

try making him lay down…a baby aspirin or 2 will NOT hurt him (aspirin ONLY….NOT Tylenol which is bad for dogs.) if you have a heating pad, make him lay down and you hold it on where it hurts…not too hot.
My dog hurt her hind leg, had to wait for the vet to open so I took a towel and wrapped it around a heating pad on med to low heat and put her in the bed with me wrapped up in a blanket. I also crushed up a regular tylenol and put it in a piece of bread. She did well through the night. Turned out she had a torn ligament. Don’t know how. The vet said I did good. Oh, alternate heat and cold. If you don’t have a cold compress, use a ziploc bag wrapped up with a kitchen towel, that way the ice in the bag want be too bad. I am so sorry, and good luck.
No, Ibuprofen is Not ok! Tylenol like another poster said is also Not ok! Ibuprofen and Tylenol are Toxic to dogs. This will not wait until tomorrow! He needs to see and Emergency Vet Now! They are open 24 hours! He may have done some real damage to his leg, or his hip! It would not be fair to the dog, to let him suffer in pain until tomorrow, when he does not have to! Please turn your computer off, and take him to the vet!
You have to put the dog in a crate and keep him there until you are ready to go to the vet. In fact, you should load your car with the crate and have him ride in it to the vets. This is to keep him non-active on his leg and that will help the most with his pain.
is there an emergency hospital you can take him to? if he is in that much pain, he needs to be seen before tomorrow.
