to make more room. (possible bone spurs) I am wondering if anyone else has had this procedure, did it help, healing time etc. MRI booked next few weeks to have a closer look. Any help would be appreciated.

OMG. See a chiropractor first. I have personally seen a lot of people come through with bursisits. If it is too bad, they will also recommend surgery. POSSIBLE bone spurs??? Can’t they see them in the x-ray? PLEASE see a good chiropractor in your area.
Medically known as an acriomioplasty. Bursae are small bags of fluid that basically stop different part of your body rubbing together. Sometimes they become inflammed, the one that you seem to be describing is called the sub-acromial bursae.
Dont worry about the operation for now. I think its important you dont jump ahead of yourself…the MRI will be useful in reaching a clear diagnosis, and i am sure the doctor will explain it more clearly if it something that is required, but it is a fairly simple operation with fast healing also.
