I’ve been under a whole lot of stress lately and I always carry tension in that area. It has been so painful the last week or so though that I can barely stand it. I am so sore there! I got a massage, which helped a little, and friends have massaged me too. Plus I have used heating pads, ibuprofen, and a back massager I have at home too. But it still hurts!
I’m wondering if it’s more than just tension, because I have been doing a lot of lifting at work with some heavy kids (special ed). So should I see a doctor now or just wait and see if it gets better?
Should I See A Doctor For My Shoulder/upper Back Pain Or Just Keep Dealing With It Myself?

I would try a Shiatsu massage pad that you can buy in most department stores or Wal-Marts, etc. It will hurt in those areas of tension first, but then it will loosen up and feel much better.
If that doesn’t work, and you’re not able to cope with your pain, see your doctor. You can always do both as well.
Good luck to you. I hope you’re feeling better soon.
I would see a doctor. Depending on which side may not even be your shoulder. I had a lot of shoulder pain on my right side when I had a gallbladder attack.
Good gracious girl see a doctor
You are really needy when those kids are biting your head and pulling hair you need some rest whether you like it or not.
My advice would be to see a chiropractor.
I had back problems and carpel tunnel syndrome, I too kept dealing with it myself.
I finally got sick of it and went to see a doctor and was told to get surgery on numerous areas of my back and also on both of my wrists for my carpel tunnel. They also wanted to give me pain pills, which I didn’t want to take, I am a SAHM, so it didn’t seem like a good idea to me!
A friend recommended me to her chiropractor and I honeslty couldn’t be happier. I found out I have some spinal problems, and some disc problems. She is helping me with those, AND my carpel tunnel without surgery or anything!
I now rarely have pain in my back and I can also type again
I just cannot say enough good things about chiropractors. They help soo much, and they are more than just a back fixer!!
My chiropractor also knows a lot about the entire body and was able to help me with my stomach aches and so on! When I went to the doctor for my stomach problems I was told that I had irritable bowel syndrome and to stop eating all sorts of food! Well my chiro advised me to take magnesium and guess what? No diet changes and my tummy is doing great!
It is a common myth that chiropractors are horribly expensive, I have found some that are expensive and some that are affordable and work with my insurance.
I hope this helped!
Cheers!
