Pain/numbness In Back, Near Right Shoulder Blade?

November 7th, 2009 · 5 Comments · Pain

Hello. Yesterday I developed a stinging pain when I take really deep breaths, or stretch the wrong way in my back, near the bottom of my right shoulder blade. It’s almost like a stinging pain, and doesn’t feel like a mucsle thing. Also, the area seems to have gone numb. I’m 30 yrs old, and in relatively good shape.
Sound like anything to worry about, or should I give it a couple of days to go away?

Probably a PINCHED NERVE. Get a good massage, go to a doctor, ask some expert about it.

i get a burning, tingly stinging pain down my right arn, and my fingers do go numb. the doc told me it was a pinched nerve. i don’t know if that would e of any help to you but our conditions sound similar. i’d try daily stretching, if it doesn’t get better, ice it and see a doc. sorry if i wasn’t much help :/

It sounds to me like you have something wrong in your neck, and the pain you are feeling is a severe muscle spasm. I would concentrate on the neck area with heat/massage working down to the shoulder blade area. You should see some relief, however, if this continues I would definitely go to the doc. Good luck.

Maybe your shoulder is inflammed, you could maybe use ice or take some Ibuprofen, such as Advil or Motrin. Try going to http://www.webmd.com and check your symtoms. If not better in a couple of days maybe go see the doctor.
