i started to feel unwell on sunday night , which i believe to be food poisoning ( not severe) this passed on tuesday and the pain in my abdomen replaced it. by wednesday the pain had moved to my shoulder too. it hurts when i breath in or lie /lean on this area, hurts more in the morning after lying on it and in the evening after moving all day, any ideas?? im 25 and generally in good health.

My first hunch is that it’s some anxiety-related pain, but that doesn’t help much, right? But you might look to see if your mood is matching the pain.
The second one is more interesting. Especially young men age 22 -28 get small punctures of the lung, which are painful in this way. Although it sounds scary, it’s actually not a big deal, it heals itself, and most guys don’t ever realize what happened to them. Yes, I know you are female, and I don’t know your age – it’s less common in women but it does happen. Be sure that you have read enough before you go see your doc – I’ve taught med school and these young whippersnappers will cover up with bluster if they don’t know their facts! hehe, so be sure you know yours.
Use the link to Wrongdiagnosis.com to see a full list of symptoms; and this cool website will help you to search for other conditions that could be associated with your symptoms. And for goodness sake, don’t let yourself fall victim to “I’ve got that … AND that .. AND THAT TOO!!!”
i also have this problem every now and again. It tends to go away within a couple of days. I think i have a knot in my muscle and every now and again it cramps up.
I’m too busy to do anything about it, but i expect a physio could work it out. i reccomend a trip to the gp if it doesnt clear up by tomorrow.
Try gently stretching the area, obviously stop if the pain increases too much.
Wil tag this question to see how you get on, i’m intrigued
Good luck, sorry i can’t be more help
Ok, it could be wind, or it could be that you’re still sore from the stomach bug. The pain in your shoulder is ‘deferred’ pain, not sure why you get it, but it’s common with stomach pains, and more commonly indicates trapped air.
Hope this helps.

could just be that you’ve pulled a muscles of bruised something… if it doesn’t get better soon though you should go to your doctor incase it needs treatment
