I am a 26 year old female, non-smoker, 5′-11″ and 145 lbs. For the last month I have been having sharp pain in my right shoulder off and on. The pain randomly occurs, it doesn’t seem to be associated with anything I am doing or eating, it just comes on randomly and generally lasts more than 24 hours. The pain is intense and deep in my shoulder it also runs down my right arm and but most of the pain is concentrated in my shoulder. Its not a pain you can located by touching my shoulder, it almost feels like its in my veins?
I have never had anything like this before and I at first thought it would go away but it keeps reoccuring. Is this something I should be extremely concerned about. Any information at all would be great. Thank you very much.
Pain In Right Shoulder That Spreads Down Right Arm?

I would make an appointment with a pain specialist at a local pain clinic. It might be difficult to find one, depending on where you live. There is a nerve that runs along the scapular (the shoulder wing blade) that is called the suprascapular nerve. When that gets inflammed it can cause pain in the area with referral pains down the arm. Sometimes a simple injection of local anesthetic to block the nerve works wonders. Good luck.
I had a similar problem, but it lasted much longer and was constant. I strained my rotator cuff. You might want to do a follow-up with a doctor just to make sure the pain isn’t serious. I am an active athlete and i had to take about 8 months off because of it. If it is something serious then you’re probably going to have to get an MRI. Again, check with your doctor before jumping to conclusions.
I have the same kind of situation. My pain in the right shoulder came on all of a sudden also. I’ve been through physical therapy. My doctor told me I have a pinched nerve. The nerve is connected from the neck travels through the shoulder and down the arm. He said I needed to rest my should to get rid of the pain. The best relief that I have experienced was going to my chiropractor. He adjusted my neck and relieved the pressure, it felt great! However, I still experience uncomfortable pain and numbness in my arm. I don’t know if this helps but I thought I would share my similar experience with you. If you come across any other ideas that ease or gets rid of the pain please let me know. Thank you and good luck.
If you do anything that causes repetetive motion with that arm it could be a rotator cup injury.
It sounds to me like bursitis. I’ve had a mild form of it in my shoulder, but I’ve had it very bad in my knee, and on that occasion the pain was definitely deep in my knee, but did kinda randomly trickle down into the rest of my leg. and describing it as deep and not really being able to locate it exactly by touch makes me think that is that case. get to a doctor, get it checked out, if it is bursitis caused my something being lodged in a bursa the pain can get worse over time and eventually need to be surgically corrected, its best to take care of it immediately.
Hey sweety. It sounds like it could just be strain caused by stress. You can go to your GP for some ointment.
my advise is to see a chiropractor. i had a similar problem with my shoulder as well and it lasted seven years. so finally i went and saw one and now my pain is completely gone.
It is probably bursitis or inflation of cartilages-
