I'd consult a physician or urgent care or free clinic because these can all be symptoms of a heart attack and heart problems happen to young women too. The fact that it is on your left side and that fact that your swallowing is involved is worrisome because there is a major nerve that is associated with your heart and with your swallowing (the vegas nerve) - so you may be having an issue with that.
Of course it may just be a strained muscle - but either way, if I were you, I'd choose aspirin for the pain because at least aspirin is a blood thinner and will help prevent more problems if it's your heart.
