I had shoulder surgery on march 10th. The pain in the shoulder is getting worse and now when I raise my arm I got a knot at the base of my neck between my shoulder blade and collar bone. The knot is about the size of a golf ball. Sometimes it’s tender to touch other times not. Also if I push on it it will go almost all the way away. The joint of my shoulder still feels awfully sore. I had the other shoulder done back in Nov, 07. I did not have this trouble with that surgery. Does anyone have any ideas?

The pressure you applied to the area is called accupressure and I have found it to be helpful for some things as well. As for the knot does not sound normal to have after surgery, but the pain and swelling may be normal still depending on how much work was done on your shoulder during surgery but I would recommend checking with your surgeon as well to see what they say.
