I am male aged 72 years. I had accident on 15/8/07 & fractured 2nd right rib. Now I have pain in right scapula, extending to right shoulder joint through whole right arm with numbness & tingling of forearm & rt hand, which increases on lying flat on my back and reduces by placing head on a pillow. Duration 1 mth. Had Short Wave Diathermy and Ultrasonic therapy for 2 days. Pain became unbearable, so discontinued. I have pain in left middle finger. It gets stuck if folded inside. Then I have to release it with the help of other hand. Pain, sometimes severe left thumb last joint towards wrist. Consulted ortho, was prescribed Thioquest 8mg TDS, Mahagaba-M 75 BD, Doloban BD X 7 days and later Levocarnitine Tab USP 500 mg BD & Tab Mahagaba Safe Plus BD X 5 days. Relief 80%, but numbness & tingling persists.

With the numbness in the hand and shoulder, dependant on your accident, i would venture a guess and say you had a neck stinger. the nerves from the shoulder blade (scapula) can be affected, all the way up thru the shoulder and down into the hands.
Rest and relaxation is the best remedy for that.
If the tingling persists, you may have a pinched nerve. Maybe see an orthopedist.
