Get it checked out. It could be tendinitis or bursitis. If it’s not looked at, it is possible it could tear, and then if that would happen, they have to even get surgery. I recently overplayed through severe shoulder pain, and finally I rested it for an entire month, and it is still a problem. Its possible, by overplaying 3-5 hrs daily, I tore the muscle. I dread having to face the music, if its torn, but I will have to check it out.

Well, Jennifer Capriati has been out for 4 years with shoulder problems so yes, It could potentially be very bad and uncomfortable in everyday life.

You should do a longer warm up with extra stretching.
