throw a football, shoot a basketball with one hand, trying to reach out and catch a ball, lifting things at work, etc. etc. etc, even stretching, and the worst might be moving my arm during sleeping, which wakes me up in the middle of the night. It doesn’t feel like a major injury but it’s really nagging and It’s holding me back in sports. If I’m doing an activity with my shoulder, if I move it the wrong way, I get a shock through out my shoulder where I can’t lift my arm up for a few minutes and it will be sore for the whole day.(This happens almost every other day.) I know I’m not a doctor and I’m going to go, but I have the feeling they are going to just tell me to ice it, and rest it because it isn’t as serious now. Does anyone have the same problem or can someone tell me what they think is wrong? Over the past year it keeps getting worse and worse. Thanks alot, I appreciate any help.

Rotator Cuff most likely (consists of four muscles, all would perform the functions you describe) and it sounds like you may be re-injuring it repeatedly. Only way to be sure if this is your problem is to get a Dr. to verify it. Could likely result in surgery to truly correct problem, but worthy of a second opinion as well…good luck.
