I am taking 800 mg Advil every 5 hours. Not helping. Shoulder x-ray normal. Neck x ray shows two bulging disks. I really don’t thing it is the neck – my arm started hurting first. MRI of neck scheduled next week. I need pain meds! What should I ask for. Tried Tylenol with Codeine – didn’t work. I am using ice compresses off and on per dr advice. don’t think it is rotator cuff because I have a good ROM> I need help with the pain – it is constant! HELP!

No pain meds truely reduce the pain associated with mechanical disorders. As long as there is something mechnically irritating something else (something pressing on something painful), the only solution is to remove what is irritating it or promote healing of the tissues…usually by certain movments, positions, manual techniques.

You need to let your nurse know that you are still in that much pain. Ask her if there is anything else the Dr. recommends for you.
Hi , get yourself along to a good chinese health clinic, have afree consultation. they will usuall check you tongue and feel pulses in both wrists. Sounds like you desparately need acupuncture. check around for one with a good reputation first as they are not all the same. not sure where you live, theres a great one in Gillingham in Kent, though its always very busy. can try if you live near 01634 571888
