Do not consume so much of Nice & other pain killers as they have side-effects. You can develop any serious disease later because of so much of its consumption. So stop taking these tablets & visit a good doctor. Ifelopathy doesn’t help then opt for homeopathy or ayurvedic as these medicines do not have any side-effect. So please stop taking these pills otherwise you will land yourself in some big problem..
Not a pain killer but info
There is a book called The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies that helps with muscles (it is easy to confuse the reason for the pain)
Most Md’s do not specialize in muscles and therefore look for the bone causes first. This book and a good massage therapist may do wonders for your pain level.
Sugar always makes the pain worse regardless of what the cause is.

I don’t know what you mean by “nice tablets so I can’t help you there. Proxyvon is what you call a “narcotic analgesic.” It is for moderate to severe pain. There are numerous bad sides to this drug. 1) It can be habit forming. 2) It can cause constipation so drink tons of water. No joke! I hope this help somewhat!
Time to see an orthopedic surgeon, 17 years of pain is excessive. It sounds to me like you might be a cantidate for more surgery.
