I Have A Stabbing Pain Under My Right Shoulder Close To My Ribs. It Feels Like Something Crawling On My Back.?

December 13th, 2009 · 3 Comments · Pain

This pain wakes me up at night and I can’t lay on my back or my right side to sleep. I don’t have medical insurance.

If it is on your right shoulder on the front then it is a possibility that its your gallbladder. I had pain on my right shoulder but its on my back… they thought it was on my front and did a bunch of tests to see if it was gallbladder problems. Any pain above your abdomen area that are on the right side is usually gallbladder. Go to your primary care physician and have him/her check you out and they may refer you to a different doctor. If they mention a chiropractor… say no! Chirpractors can’t really help in situations like this.. they only made mine worse. You might want to mention/go see a gastrointerologist. That is a doctor that specializes in all the abdomen, digestive system, stomach, gallbladder, digestive system etc. You might also want to see an orthopedic. So he can check your shoulder out and tell you if its related to abdominal stuff or if its a different issue. Since you are saying you can’t lay on your back or right side to sleep… i would recommend going to the doctor soon!
You don’t have medical insurance… but if the pain is how you are describing it… i have the exact same pain and you seriously need to go see a doctor soon. Talk to an insurance company because… trust me after I have gone to all these doctors.. it could be something serious. Please go to the doctor! It is only going to get worse… trust me! Mine hasn’t gone away and so, I am getting an MRI next week. You need to try and get medical insurance if pain is this bad and advil/tylenol isn’t helping.
    Good Luck!!! :)

you should have it checked out by a dr. You might be having a gallbladder attack or other problems..Maybe even a pulled muscle.. but you should have it checked.

I get the same thing due to an injury when a piece of paneling fell and hit my spine, causing a bulging disc. I lived with the pain for 3 years until recently when I broke down and went to the chiropractor. He did x-rays and diagnosed scoliosis, and gave me an adjustment, and told me some exercises and stretches to do to help get the spine in better shape and to try to avoid pain. I take ibuprofen and do stretches and soak in hot baths to relieve the aches, and so far it has helped. Good luck to you.
