Unless your bed is very old or broken I doubt it’s your bed. You may have injured your shoulder at some point and during the night you move into a position that strains your shoulder. Try putting a pillow under your shoulder and sleep on your back. That would take the pressure of the shoulder.
You could also try some light stretching before bed. That might loosen things up before bed.

well i had a problem with my back alot but it could of been some number of things…my bed was broken but after taking the frame out, my back was better but i also have a baby that likes to be carried, that also affects my neck area, back area, also could be because some people have big b o o bs, or overwieght problems….

Don’t know what your financial situation is, but if you can afford one, a Sleep Number by Select Comfort is the best money I ever spent.
    Ever.

If you sleep on your left side, try sleeping on your back. Also, a bed topper might help.

I’m with Stuart. A sleep number bed can help alot as you can make it softer if you need it to on the nights your shoulder and neck hurt from sleeping on your side. Memory foam, high quality down, or another kind of mattress topper may help in the mean time. Try sleeping on your back more and take an Advil or Aleve before bed to help relieve pain and inflammation.
