I Am A Smoker With Nearly Constant Pain Under My Right Shoulder Blade And Into Chest. I Also Burp Alot.?

December 12th, 2009 · 4 Comments · Pain

I Saw my Dr. and they thought it was my gallbladder, but had several tests run after going to ER with terrible burning and chest pain and they said gallbladder showed no stones. Since I was also having chest pain, they checked out my heart through multiple tests…also fine. ER doc said maybe I have ulcers… so I have taken prilosec OTC for a month and a half now but no relief. I am so tired of this pain, and I really do not think it is related to my stomach, as I have no pain or burning in my stomach area. I have felt bloated at times, but not often, and never abdominal pain. Only terrible burning in back and into chest along with burping quite often. ANYONE, PLEASE HELP if you have had symptoms like this. I can’t afford to keep going to Drs and getting no relief…it is so frustrating. Thanks

The burping could be a result of helicobacter pylori. Go back and ask to be checked out for that.

It’s probably stress. That doesn’t mean you don’t really hurt or you are crazy. Pain is a vicious circle–the more you dwell on it the more you have and so on. Go back for a general physical–get a chest x-ray, blood work up, etc…If these come back normal, consider treating the stress. Something like Welbutrin might help with stress and the smoking. Hope you feel better.

quit smoking is allways good !
and i might add i know from experience
i smoked for 17 years and my overall health improved 100%
u might at least try ?
also drink lots of water : 8 glasses of clean water and no softdrinks keep it down on the coffee and the tea and don’t ever at mc burger king or mc Donald eat fresh fruit and vegetable every day
well in short : don’t just look for a final solution
look for small and minor improvements also !
i do hope u find a final solution though
