This pain has cause restrictions to left arm mobility. A knock on the shoulder is equivalent to a knife being stab into the shoulder/neck area – very agonising.

you have a transferred nerve pain from the muscles and tendons in the neck and very likely down into the shoulders. The pins and needles feeling is that ‘transferred pain’ to other areas and follows the path of the major nerves.
It’s going to take some serious massage and maybe even manipulation to get it right. You can use a heat rub, like is used in arthritis. Best is to have someone else do the rub but not too long or the cream will burn the skin
.Up the tendon from the shoulder to where it meets the skull. Probably one side will be more tender than the other.but do both. Then around the base of the skull, pressing quite firmly with a finger on any sore spots. Then release slowly after a count of ten.
There will be a very tender spot in the muscle on top of your lower arm, just before the joint. You can help the pain by massaging firmly up and down from above the elbow, to the center / middle of the forearm with your righ hand thumb. This has the benefit of transmitting pain relief upwards to the shoulder(s)
Neck turns to each way and gently press the cheek to increase the turn. 4-5 at a time holding for 10 secs.
Chin tucks also pressing the chin while sitting erect, to increase the tuck. Do these 2-3 times daily holding for 10-15 secs.
Paracetamol is the best pain relief for this type of injury. 2 X 3 times daily. You can also get arnica rub (cream) that is a very effective pain killer for local pain.

If you do have a spur on your neck, I have gotten rid of them by pressing hard on them and holding. they kind of break up under pressure and your pain will be gone. If it’s not a spur then you might benefit from this exercise, or even if it is you should benefit from it:
    Movement into your neck:
(do while sitting and only look straight forward)
Place your right hand on your left shoulder taking putting the muscle there in between your fingers and thumb. Squeeze the muscle and hold that pressure. Now relax, take a deep breath and exhale and don’t tense up any part of your body. After 30 seconds, slowly lean your head to your other shoulder as far as it will go. Release the pressure but hold your head there for one minute longer.
