Try moist heat. Or fill a sweatsock with a good quality UNCOOKED rice ( not the cheap kind), tie a knot at the end & pop it into the microwave for 2 minutes & put it on your shoulder. It provides a moist heat that stays warm for a long time. This can be re-used for months & months!
