I had to take this b/c of my migraines as well. It was the only thing that helped. I had to take it with my first and he was perfect and my second baby is about to be born and all is good. I stopped taking it during my second trimester sometime, when the headaches stopped. I know how miserable a migraine can be and I found that Head-On worked well if I caught it in the begining. Those commercials don’t give it enough credit! :) Good luck and best pregnancy wishes!

This drug combination is in the FDA pregnancy category C. This means that its effects on an unborn baby are not known. Do not take this medication without first talking to your doctor if you are pregnant.
Category C is not a medication you should be taking alot of since the risks are unknown. This is the kind of drug that you shouldn’t take regularly and should only take when absolutely necessary. This is a habit forming drug which means you could get addicted – that in itself would make your newborn colicky and upset because whatever medication you take goes straight to baby. Your doctor probably prescribed it because the challenge of having migraines outweighs the risk to the baby – but I think he made a poor decision. You should grin and bear the migraines when you’re pregnant for baby’s sake. That’s what I’ve always done – not easy – but better than harming baby.
Fioricet® (Butalbital, Acetaminophen, and Caffeine Tablets USP) is supplied in tablet form for oral administration.
Each tablet contains the following active ingredients:
    butalbital USP . . . . . . . . . . . .50 mg
    acetaminophen USP . . . . . . 325 mg
    caffeine USP . . . . . . . . . . . . .40 mg
Also, these pills do have caffiene and you should only have a max of about 80 grams of caffiene in one day – preferably less. Caffiene speeds up the heart and it is known to cause issues for baby. The Acetaminophen is perfectly harmless – I’d recommend using only Extra Strength Tylenol and rest for the migraines even if they last 3 days. I’ve had them last for almost a week – but while pregnant it’s best to suffer for baby’s sake.
