Ear Jaw Neck & Shoulder Pains..?

December 14th, 2009 · 3 Comments · Pain

I have been experiencing a clicky neck and my jaw popping when i open it wide enough to eat, this has been going on for about 5 months . Just recently it has started to ache and i have pains every so often. This is all happening on the right side of my Face/ Neck. And it has now gone down to my right shoulder.
I have been taking pain killers and i’ve used heat spray on my shoulder but nothing seems to work, before i go to the doctors i thought i would check on here too find out what it might be?
Thanks .

you have to see a doctor so he can get your full history and do a physical exam. not a chiropractor please. if the clicky neck is due to damage to your cervical vertebrae (neck part of your spine), you don’t want anyone manipulating it. the pain killers will just mask the pain. they wont address what’s really wrong. the fact that the pain has radiated to your shoulder means it’s worsening. it could be anything from a herniated cervical disc to tumor or enlarged lymph nodes pressing on your nerves, or TMJ like the guy above me said or something that’s not really serious at all.

Jaw Pain, Ear Aches? you May Have Tmd
TMD stands for the condition Temporomandibular Joint Disorder. Sometimes, you will hear people or doctors refer to TMJ, which is the acronym for the temporomandibular joint, itself. The jaw joint, in front of the ear, is a ball and socket joint where the lower jaw (mandible) connects with the temporal bone of the skull. Between the two bones is a cartilage pad for cushioning. The jaw joint can be out of alignment. This gives what dentists call malocclusion, or a bad bite.

There could be a number of things.
Go see a doctor, not internet trolls.
