earlier today I lifted my Son off the ground when he hurt himself and all of a sudden I got this sharp pain deep in my joint area. I know it’s my joint area because I have tendinitis in my other shoulder and this pain is much worse than the tendinitis. I can still move my arm, but when I do I want to scream! Any Ideas of what it might be, or what I might have done?
Can A Person Have A Slightly Dislocated Shoulder?

If its causing you a lot of pain you really should see a doctor, for a full assessment, especially if its affecting your ability to rotate your shoulder in a normal fashion.
There are a number of injuries that can occur to the shoulder, dislocation, shoulder separation (it is not the same as a dislocation), frozen shoulder, soft tissue injuries, Supraspinatus tendonitis etc, all very painful and need medical attention.
If you had dislocated you shoulder you would not be able to rotate your arm, with a dislocated arm it is held at the side, usually slightly away from the body with the forearm turned outward, the arm may also have pins and needles, numbness or discoloration of the arm and hand, and the shoulder looks different to the other shoulder. So I hope you have not done this.
Please see your doctor sooner rather than later.
You may have torn your rotator cuff. I doubt you have a shoulder separation or dislocation. I suggest you see the doctor so he/she can perform the appropriate tests.
If you have range of motion, could be a pull or tear, it’s probably spasming, ice & rest, maybe some motrin
