the pain is almost a stabbing feeling, and everybody i’ve spoken to seems to think it’s a pinched nerve. however, i’ve had pinched nerves before and this is quite a bit different. the pain shoots directly to the front of my chest from the center of my upper back… it’s almost unbearable. heating pads seem to work. and i have tried tylenol… since that is all i’m allowed to take because i’m pregnant. also when i breathe (short OR deep breaths don’t make a difference) the pain worsens. and when i move my arms as well. i can’t even stand up straight, and standing up is a struggle from sitting down.
i’m only 18, and this pain came on pretty suddenly and randomly. i don’t know what caused it. i put in a message with my doctor’s nurse about thirty minutes ago, but i don’t know how long it will be before she gets back to me.
PLEASE HELP!!!

I would check with a doctor ASAP. Pregnancy can do funny things to your body. It can be hard on your heart. It’s always good to check. It could aslo be really bad gas pain, gull stones, or just a backache. Only a doctor will be able to tell you for sure.
Try stretching exercises for you neck and shoulders. It could also be your gallbladder. Try physio or massage therapy.
Well, to me it does sound like a nerve… Maybe you pulled or strained a muscle and it’s compressing the nerve? Hopefully it’s not a bulging disk or something like that! Unfortunately there’s not much that can be done therapy-wise if you are pregnant. Pregnancy is a contraindication for many PT treatments. They might refer you to physical therapy for massage and heat treatment. But believe me, sometimes a little massage can work WONDERS.
