Any Idea What Is Causing The Pain On Top Of My Shoulder?

November 20th, 2009 · 1 Comment · Pain

Thank you in advance! I received my injury yesterday in softball because of an ugly dive for a base. I went to urgent care and they told me I didn’t break anything. I’m experience pain centered around the top of my shoulder, specifically, the acromion. When I move it, something in that area hurts, and some motions hurt more than others. For instance, I can’t raise my arm straight in front of me even to 90 degrees. When that happens, I feel pressure, like something is pushing or pulling that shouldn’t be. Any ideas?

Go to a doctor and get a second opinion.
You might have strained or sprained a muscle or muscles. This can be very painful. The doctor has some tests they can do to find out what sort of sprain it is. There are also scans you can have to find out what has happened. Just download what you have written here and take it with you when you go to the doctor.
